Saint Thomas’s Church, Birchgrove

Welcome to Saint Thomas’s Church

St. Thomas’s is an iron chapel (also known as a “Tin Tabernacle”) Church in Birchgrove.   This was a type of prefabricated church building made from corrugated galvanised iron, developed in the mid-19th century and sold in large numbers around the world.

The Church building has a warm and cosy atmosphere and offers a healing community place in Birchgrove. We meet on a Sunday for worship and the welcome offered is kind and welcoming. St Thomas’s Church hall is regularly used by lots of community groups and the Church makes a lovely space for small groups and reflection.

We have Messy Church in the Hall on the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 3.30-5:00pm during School term time and all children with their carers are welcome. We have been a designated warm space during the winter months offering refreshments and a warm place for all in our community to gather.

Come and meet new friends and go on a journey with God in a cosy, safe and welcoming space.
