Safeguarding Officer

The Safeguarding Officer for the Ministry Area is Cath Barr . She is a community midwife working for the NHS

Her role as Safeguarding officer is to ensure anyone who is involved with children or vulnerable adults, in a role within the Ministry Area, has current DBS clearance, that any concerns are responded to appropriately and to liaise with the diocese and provincial safeguarding teams.

A DBS check is a way for employers (Including organisations using voluntary workers) to check for criminal records, to help decide whether volunteers are a suitable people to work for them. This includes deciding whether it is suitable for them to work with children or vulnerable adults.

For general safeguarding enquiries, please contact Cath on 07817336824 / 02920616527 or cathrynannebarr@hotmail.com  All the clergy are DBS checked and have had safeguarding training, so you may discuss anything with them also.
